Advantages Of Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi allows LANs (Local Area Networks) to be deployed without cabling for client devices, typically reducing the costs of network deployment and expansion. Spaces where cables cannot be run, such as outdoor areas and historical buildings, can host wireless LANs.

The most important shortcoming in Wi-Fi is the range. So far we may have difficulties in making a connection with a receiver which is more than 50-75 meters away (inside the buildings). The signal should be stronger to provide larger connectable spaces. Additionally, some of the wireless adapters works on the frequencies that are currently used by many other wireless devices. It can cause a serious interference, so the connection performance can be quite poor.

Mobility
Wi-Fi offers increased mobility. Among employees who use a laptop will no longer have to worry about connecting their power cable. They will move their offices to the meeting room without losing their connection to the corporate network and Internet.

Ease of Use
For your employees and visitors allowed to log in Wi-Fi has no technical difficulty. Just enter a WEP key or WAP associated with your Wi-Fi base after double-clicking the icon 'Wireless Network Connection. " After a short search during which the message "read the network address" appears, the computer connects to the network. The computer keeps the connection settings, just as Wi-Fi is activated once the computer recognizes the Wi-Fi signal and automatically logs the following times.

Low Cost
The installation of a wireless network costs less than a cable network for a business, it takes subtract from the budget the cables and connectors networks. For equipment, an access point plus a wireless card and computer peripheral enough. No software is required, a simple operating system is sufficient.

Traceroute

Traceroute program as is believed was written by Van Jacobson in 1987.  This program when executed determines the route taken by packets over an IP network.  Traceroute works by increasing the "time-to-live" value of each successive batch of packets sent. The first three packets sent have a time-to-live (TTL) value of one, next three have a TTL value of 2, and this goes on.  When packet reaches through a host, it decrements TTL value by one and forward the packet to next host.  When a packet with a TTL of one reaches a host, the host discards the packet and sends an ICMP time exceeded packet to the sender. The traceroute utility uses these returning packets to produce a list of hosts that the packets have traversed en route to the destination. The three timestamp values returned for each host along the path are the delay (aka latency) values typically in milliseconds (ms) for each packet in the batch.

If a packet does not return within the expected timeout window, an asterisk) is traditionally displayed.  IP does not guarantee that all the packets take the same route.

On modern Unix and Linux-based operating systems, the traceroute by default uses UDP datagrams.  The traceroute utility has an option to specify use of ICMP echo request. If you have got firewall on your PC and want that traceroute work from both machines (Unix/Linux and Windows) you will need to allow both protocols inbound through your firewall (UDP with ports from 33434 to 33534 and ICMP type 8.

Traceroute is frequently used for network troubleshooting. It shows list of routers traversed and allows the user to identify the path taken to reach a particular destination on the network.  This helps identify routing problems or firewalls that block access to a site.  Traceroute is also used by penetration testers to collect information about network infrastructure and IP ranges around any given host.  It can also be used when downloading data, and if there are multiple mirrors available for the same piece of data, one can trace each mirror to get a good idea of which mirror would be the fastest to use.  Traceroute has been often used by hackers as a way to acquire sensitive details about a company's network architecture.  With the use of traceroute command, a hacker can quickly map out intermediate routers for known destinations on a company's network architecture.  For these reasons, whereas traceroute was unrestricted during the early days of the Internet, today many networks block traceroute requests.  However, filtering traffic except at network end-points is a controversial practice.

VPN (VIRTUAL PRIVATE NETWORK)

VPNs provide the same secure Site-to-Site network connectivity for remote users over the Internet as they would over a secure private network. Enabling this secure connectivity requires policies and technologies for VPN cryptographic services to support user authentication, data integrity, and encryption. Network administrators must be able to identify the various VPN alternatives, the network connectivity supported by each, and the main terminology used. A VPN carries private traffic over a public network using advanced encryption and tunnels to ensure confidentiality of information, integrity of data, and authentication of peers.

Why have VPNs?

This is entirely based upon the benefits a VPN has over a leased line network. VPNs are less costlier, more flexible, have tunnel topology and different connection types, and can be easily managed than leased line networks.

VPN solutions are organized into two main types (Cisco standard), namely remote-access VPNs and Site-to-Site VPNs where former connect securely remote users, such as mobile users and telecommuters, to the enterprise; on the other hand, latter connect securely remote and branch offices to the enterprise (intranet VPNs) and connect third parties, such as customers, suppliers, and business partners, to the enterprise (extranet VPNs).

Arthritis

Arthritis characterized by erosion of articular cartilage, either primary or secondary to trauma or other conditions, which becomes soft, frayed, and thinned with eburnation of subchondral bone and outgrowths of marginal osteophytes; pain and loss of function result; mainly affects weight-bearing joints, is more common in older persons. Other terms defining osteoarthritis are degenerative arthritis, arthrosis, and degenerative joint disease.

Ostearthritis is caused by wear and tear in the joints, injury to the joints, inactivity, too much body weight, and in some cases, this is caused mainly due to hereditary factors.

Symptoms include stiffness in the joints, muscle atrophy, bony enlargement and swelling, difficulty bending and kneeling, decreased range of motion of the joints, joint pain and tingling, etc.

Diagnosis for arthritis involve physical examination, contrast x-ray imaging studies, blood tests to measure blood cell counts and find rheumatoid factor.

Treatments for this condition include increased joint movements or being active, weight control, go visit gym or to Weight Watchers, proper exercise measures, heat and cold therapy, surgical repair of cartilages, pain medication, NSAIDs, over-the-counter creams, drugs, scrubs, corticosteroid injections, and surgical procedures.

Hypertension

Hypertension simply means somebody having high blood pressure. Blood pressure is measured in millimeters of mercury (mmHg). Readings are in the format of X per Y where X indicates systolic pressure and Y indicates diastolic pressure. Systolic should remain below 120 to be normal and diastolic should remain below 80 to be normal. Most top factors for you to have hypertension are obesity, diabetes, stressful life, being anxious, big eaters, alcohol and smoking. A hypertensive possess symptoms like buzzing in the ears or nose, headache, fatigue, dizziness, shortness of breath, irregular heartbeats and change in vision, etc.

Patients with hypertension are advised by doctors to undergo blood tests, echocardiogram, electrocardiogram, renal ultrasound and urinalysis.

Medicines to treat hypertension condition include alpha blockers, ACE inhibitors, ARBs, beta blockers, diuretics and vasodilators.

Strategies to treat hypertension involve maintaining proper weight, healthy eating habits, decrease alcohol and smoke intake, limit salt consumption, avoid being depressed or stressful too much, and adopt routine exercise measures.

Top named drugs for hypertension disease are carvedilol, metoprolol, atenolol, Inderal, amlodipine, nifedipine, benazepril, enalapril, lisinopril, and valsartan, etc.

Cataract

Cataract can be defined as complete or partial clouding of the ocular lens. Cataracts are leading cause of blindness in patients, mostly targeting at old age. In this condition, visual field becomes fuzzy or blurry. A cataract affects lens which is responsible for clear and sharp images by eyes. As people advance in their age going into old age, dead cells accumulate in the lens capsule making lens go cloudy and vision no longer remains clear and sharp.

Symptoms include blurred vision, double vision, impaired night visibility, and color vision fading, etc. Three major types of cataracts are nuclear cataracts, cortical cataracts, and subcapsular cataracts.

Cataracts can be diagnosed by retinal examination, tonometry testing, slit lamp examination, and visual acuity testing.

Treatments involve glasses prescription, lens removal surgical procedure, lens replacement surgery, IOLs, and regular ophthalmic examinations.

Breastfeeding and child health

Breastfeeding is not only good for a child’s health, but also for the mother. It can help burn up to 500 calories a day, according to a recent New York State Department of Health Campaign. This weight loss boost can translate into other health benefits including a reduced risk of developing type 2 diabetes. In fact, the New York Department of Health launched the $1 million public health education campaign to educate new mothers on the health benefits of breastfeeding. While the physicians behind the campaign say new mothers should continue to breast-feed for a year or longer, many choose not to nurse beyond six months. At least 75 percent of babies today are breastfed compared with 60 percent 15 years ago, according to statistics.
